General information about Aruba

Location: Aruba is located in the Caribbean Sea, approximately 40 kilometers north of Venezuela, and is part of the Leeward Islands.

Political status: Aruba is an autonomous country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Population: A diverse population with descendants of Arawak Indians, Europeans, Africans, Colombians, and the Dutch.

Languages: Dutch, English, Spanish, and Papiamento are widely spoken.

Entry requirements:

- ED-card: Every traveler is required to complete the digital immigration card via the official Aruba ED-card website before departure.

- Sustainability Fee: Since 2024, a mandatory sustainability surcharge of $20 applies to visitors arriving by plane. This must be paid online when completing the ED card.

- Passport: You must be in possession of a valid passport that is valid for at least the entire duration of your stay. A Dutch identity card (ID card) is not accepted. No visa is required for Dutch passport holders.
